The City of Petoskey is currently seeking applications for a full-time Public Works Technician – Water/Wastewater. Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma, possession or ability to obtain a Michigan Commercial Driver’s License and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License, Water Licenses, as issued by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE). Some experience as a trainee or operator in a municipal water system and/or wastewater treatment plant is preferred, but not required.
This position offers a special opportunity for a person who has water and/or wastewater treatment plant operating experience and who holds or has the ability to acquire all licenses as issued by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE), with abilities to read and record utility meters on established routes, in an outside environment, which involves walking long distances in all weather conditions and at times on uneven terrain.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.12 - $32.05 per hour
