We’re looking for a passionate and technically sharp Wastewater Process Engineer who’s ready to make waves in municipal infrastructure. As a rising star in our Florida/Puerto Rico Water Market team, you’ll work alongside nationally recognized technologists and seasoned project managers on high-impact projects that span the full spectrum of wastewater process engineering. From primary treatment to tertiary polishing, from nutrient removal to sidestream treatment, you’ll help deliver resilient, sustainable, and regulatory-compliant solutions that serve communities and protect ecosystems.
You’ll contribute to projects involving
- Primary treatment
- Advanced Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR)
- Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)
- Tertiary treatment
- Disinfection optimization
- Sidestream treatment and nutrient recovery
- Process modeling and simulation
- Aeration system design and optimization
- Equalization and wet weather flow management
- Process intensification and retrofit strategies
- Master planning and feasibility studies
- Startup, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting

Here's what you'll need
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
- 4–8 years of experience in wastewater process engineering, including hands-on design and modeling
- Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Proven expertise in biological nutrient removal, MBR systems, and disinfection by-product mitigation
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A passion for solving complex challenges and delivering meaningful results
Bonus points if you have
- Experience supporting CMAR and design-build delivery
- Familiarity with Florida’s regulatory landscape and municipal client needs
- A publication record or conference presence in wastewater treatment topics
- A desire to mentor junior staff and contribute to Jacobs’ technical community

The base salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $141,500.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
