We are currently hiring a Waste Management Technician is responsible for activities related to the treatment of liquid and solid waste to prepare for the proper disposal of the treated waste, gathering samples and other job related duties to liquid and solid waste.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform treatability studies.
- Gather samples of waste to perform treatability studies.
- Recording daily flow in the absence of the Manager.
- Calibrate pH meters in the absence of the Manager.
- Act as an attendant and when necessary, perform confined space entry for tank truck cleaning.
- Assist waste water operator with pumping, cleaning, and maintaining wastewater equipment.
- When necessary, dump, cut up, and dispose of drums and totes.
- Assist in cleaning truck unloading lines.
- Provide equipment maintenance as needed.
- Perform pump cleaning and maintenance.
- Operate a lift truck as necessary.
- Operate backhoe as necessary for removal or movement of solid waste.
- Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to follow instructions.

- Ability to use tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions outdoors.
- Have a working knowledge of forklifts and backhoes or be willing receive on the job training to operate a forklift and backhoe.
- Have or be able to complete confined space entry training.
Required Education And Experience
- High School Diploma, preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of walking and standing while working.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions where temperatures can be extremely cold, hot or humid depending on the outside temperature.
- Work in an environment where there are unexpected, sudden loud noises, beeping backup alarms, flashing lights and sudden movements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times by lifting, pulling or pushing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds by reaching above the shoulders.
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- Overtime is mandatory from time to time based on business need.
- Work environment is on site. Remote work not offered for this position.
