Duties may include, but are limited to, the following. The omission of an essential work task does not preclude management from assigning duties or tasks not listed if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.
- Locate and read industrial, commercial and residential meters on an assigned route; enters readingin electronic data recorder; clears mud and debris from meter enclosures, as needed.
- Operate handheld computers; inspect meters for damages and tampering; replace old watermeters or ones that have ceased to work.
- Repair and exchange water meters to working condition.
- Report vacant residences where service has not been disconnected and questionable reading to supervisor.
- Install meters and meter boxes and turns the system on and off as required.
- Install, repair and maintain water lines.
- Install reclaimed water lines, gravity sewer lines and wastewater force mains.
- Must be available for announced or unannounced overtime work and the ability to respond to call-outduring non-working hours or emergencies after initial training.
- Other duties maybe required and assigned.
