Scope: A Waste Treatment Operator has the responsibility of operating the waste treatment system under routine conditions.
Essential Job Function
- Operate all waste treatment equipment.
- Complete quality checks,
- Perform preventative maintenance and make minor repairs.
- Report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor.
- Wear personal protective equipment required by the job.
- Monitor effluent by sampling.
- Keep accurate records of daily incoming water consumption.
- Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly work area.
- Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately.
- Perform additional ad hoc projects as assigned
- Work overtime as assigned
Requirements
Essential Qualifications, Education and Experience
- High school education or equivalent.
- Ability to work with process chemicals.
- Beginner to Intermediate mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand 8-12 hours
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces
- Ability to climb up and down stairs
- Use of gross and fine motor skills
