This is an onsite Environmental Engineering role where you are employed by Trinity working onsite at a premier client campus. You will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental compliance, reporting, and strategies at biotech manufacturing of the Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) team. Partner with internal stakeholders to address environmental opportunities and gather information for environmental reports. Support waste reduction initiatives and other programs at the site to enable ongoing research, development, clinical supply manufacturing, and business operations.
Major Responsibilities
Gather and aggregate data/information for environmental compliance and sustainability reports to support performance reporting, benchmarking and regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement of the environmental programs and assist in compliance and sustainability reviews of new projects.
Work effectively to manage & deliver projects in a team environment, including in-depth collaboration between SHE, Site Operations (Facilities, Engineering, Lab Operations, Workplace Services)
Be a contributing member on the cross-functional Energy and Resources Management Team guiding the team towards efficient use of natural resources.
Analyze historical event data, leading indicators, and in-field observations and provide recommendations based upon analysis.
Develop and update environmental procedures. Develop, update and facilitate environmental training programs.
Assist with implementation of ISO14001 Environmental Management Program.
Perform environmental audits and inspections, including identification of non-compliance, non-conformities and corrective actions.
Complete environmental permit applications, regulatory reports & voluntary award applications to local, state and federal regulatory agencies or 3rd party entities
Oversee wastewater sampling, including review reports from wastewater contractor to ensure compliance with permit requirements.
Sustainability Data Management
- Collect, record, and manage all data related to sustainability metrics both for internal and external use
- Use engineering calculations, estimations, and assumptions to quantify carbon, energy, water reductions for projects
- Present and report on consumption of natural resources regularly at team meetings
Efficient Building Operation
- Regularly monitor building facility systems to ensure efficient operation. Flag issues to facilities team when issues arise.
- Identify non-conformities and corrective actions
Experience
Work effectively on multiple projects at once and respond to rapidly changing demands.
Experience with Title V air permitting and reporting required.
Experience surrounding tanks calculations required.
Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and industry Environmental regulations and sustainability trends.
Some prior experience and/or knowledge of building systems: boilers, air handling units, cooling towers, chillers, water purification equipment.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, within all levels of the organization.
Exercise judgment while being insightful, logical and methodical.
Microsoft Office (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) experience preferred.
Three or more years of applicable work experience
Educational Requirement
A bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering required.
