Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a skilled
Industrial Water/Wastewater Engineer for our west-central Florida office to join and lead interdisciplinary teams focused on delivering high-value consulting advice, high-quality designs, and cost-effectively constructed projects for industrial sector clients. This role is integral to our One Water for Industry practice, requiring advanced expertise in industrial sector water, wastewater, and stormwater systems with an understanding of environmental regulations and impacts. As an engineering consultant, you will provide comprehensive planning, assessment, design, and technical oversight to ensure successful solutions through project delivery within budgetary and timeline constraints.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Project Design and Execution
- Determine client challenges, problems, and needs to define the best solution(s) to solving them.
- Develop design calculations, technical reports, permitting documents, detailed engineering plans, and specifications.
- Oversee construction administration to ensure quality and adherence to design specifications.
- Research alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory requirements to inform project decisions.
- Provide operational and project delivery assessments with defined possible paths to improve performance.
- Client and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Connect with clients and relevant stakeholders to instill confidence in achieving client objectives.
- Work effectively with local, state, and national technical teams to meet client needs.
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships to support business development.
- Participate in face-to-face meetings with clients, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
- Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance and delegate tasks to junior engineers.
- Prepare feasibility studies and environmental proposals.
- Develop visual, graphical, and tabular summaries of environmental data and trends.
- Regulatory and Compliance Oversight
- Coordinate permitting processes and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Conduct project-related research, including historical data and regulatory standards.
- Team and Project Management
- Coordinate schedules with subcontractors and ensure timely project delivery.
- Foster collaboration across overlapping teams to achieve unified project outcomes.
- Travel (typically 10-20%) for site assessments and stakeholder engagements.

What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field with environmental focus).
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or eligibility for licensure in Florida, Georgia, or Alabama preferred.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in water treatment, industrial processes, and environmental compliance.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in assisting clients with local, state, and federal regulations including permitting and compliance within an industrial setting.
- Technical expertise in designing landfill leachate, water treatment, and/or wastewater treatment systems, piping, process controls, and construction phase services.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and contemporary engineering design software.
- Decision-making modeling expertise and familiarity with software a plus.
- Proven success in designing and delivering water and environment projects to industrial clients, maintaining client relationships, and fostering new business opportunities.
